How Lindsay Lohan Went From A Star to Recluse and What She Is Doing Now

By the age of 35, Lindsay Lohan has been through so much even the wildest rock stars would be put to shame. She started a modeling career at age three, became one of the most promising young actresses of her generation, released a couple of music albums, launched a fashion brand, ruined her brilliant career, ended up in jail, screwed up rehab programs several times, wanted to go to war in Iraq, supported Harvey Weinstein, got caught stealing jewellery, and other things we will never hear about. But that was then; now, she seems determined to regain her good name.

In the late 1990s, Lindsay starred in the iconic comedy The Parent Trap and immediately became the main competition to the Olsen twins. After the first success, Lindsay appeared in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, which made her the queen of teen comedies. Despite the silliness of the genre, industry professionals saw potential in Lindsay and compared her to the young Jodie Foster.

In 2002, she also decided she could sing and signed a contract with Emilio Estefan. However, not too long after that, Lohan signed a new contract with Casablanca Records, which released her first album  — Speak. The album never reached the top of the music charts but was still quite popular, although critics noted that Lindsay should stick to acting.

The problems started popping up at the end of 2004. Lindsay broke up with her boyfriend, ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection, and then went clubbing with Paris Hilton every other night while essentially living in a hotel. Every following year or so, Lindsay would do something stupid that would bring harm not only to her health but also to the movies she starred in.

In 2007, she was arrested for drunk driving, and two weeks after leaving the rehab clinic, Lindsay was arrested again. This time she was doing drags. As a result, Lohan spent two weeks behind bars, instead of 90 days, and left the rehab after 23 days. In 2011, she added theft to her repertoire when she got caught stealing a necklace from a jewelry store.

In the meanwhile, Lindsay tried to stay relevant by saying stupid things like, for example, in 2006, she expressed a desire to join the military operation in Iraq, and in 2008 she offered her services to Barack Obama’s campaign headquarters. The worst one by far was that time when Lohan defended the infamous producer Harvey Weinstein, saying that she got several roles in his films, but he never acted disrespectfully towards her. Yeah, because if it didn’t happen to you, it couldn’t possibly happen to anyone else.

Lohan’s personal life was also very unstable. Her first crush was Aaron Carter, but he was a real player dating Hilary Duff on the side. Let’s skip a decade and talk about Lindsay’s first serious relationship with That ’70s Show co-star Wilmer Valderrama. In 2004, they were even going to get married, but it did not work out. This broke her heart, and she started dating men and women like there’s no tomorrow. In 2015, the actress started a long-term relationship with London-based Russian businessman Yegor Tarabasov only to accuse him of cheating and domestic violence a year and a half later.

In the more recent years, she (allegedly) dated Korean bodybuilder Jae-Yong Ha and Liam Hemsworth after his breakup with Miley Cyrus. In early 2020 Lindsay started a new fling with Bader Shammas, who’s about as rich as one can get. But Lindsey’s main love interest has recently been Greece. Yes, the country. Here, she found peace and decided to start a new life as a businesswoman. She opened several clubs — Lohan Nightclub in Athens and two Lohan Beach Houses in Rhodes and Mykonos. The latter is where she began filming a reality show for MTV about building a big club business. Since nobody’s ever heard of it, we assume the show was a flop.

In 2021, we heard rumors that Lindsay is preparing a return to the screens as the main character in a Christmas comedy produced by Netflix, which should come out by, you guessed it, Christmas 2022.
