Netflix has released the full trailer for the historical film “The King” by David Michaud, the movie tells the story of Prince Henri – the future King Henry V, who will inherit the throne and find out what power is. He leads a laid-back lifestyle and is not ready for the throne, but the death of his father changes everything.
In the full trailer, finally, meet the key characters of Timothee Chalamet and Robert Pattinson. Chalamet plays the tough Henry V, while Pattinson is his enemy Prince Louis. We also get a better look at Lily Rose-Depp – the future wife and Queen of England, Catherine. The historical drama premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and critics have already noted Chalamet’s brilliantly acting.
According to some other critics, the best part of the movie was Pattinson. He does not have much screen time, but he uses every second of it to the fullest. His English has a boisterous French accent, constantly tries to straighten a lock of dyed hair, and spreads rudeness all around him.
The director doesn’t try to compete with the great English authors like Orson Welles in the interpretation of Shakespeare. Michaud has somehow successfully created a catchy, witty, and fascinating quasi-historical thriller about a rookie coming to power.
If you’ve seen the movie already, how did you like it? Let us know if Pattinson is really the shining gem of this movie.
