Although technology has gotten us to where we are today, do you ever wish that you could just take a time machine back to certain iconic eras? There’s no denying that the 1970s was one of those magical times. Coming out of the free love from the 60s, the 70s continued that trend with passion — it was a carefree decade of glitter, Studio 54 partying, amazing music and even better clothes. Fortunately, there’s a certain Instagram account that was created specifically to pay homage to these incredible blasts from the past. Here are all the best moments of the 1970s that are almost as good as going back in time.

Does anything define the 70s more than Jimi Hendrix? There was nobody cooler than this musician back in the day Although this was technically a couple of years early from 1967, he’s already oozing that 70s energy in the photograph.

Here’s a shot of a young Mick Jagger on tour back in 1972. It’s safe to say that girls and boys all over were obsessed with this handsome rockstar, and with that feathered hair, he’s certainly giving Jane Fonda a run for her money.

Ah, the classic heart-shaped tubs of the 1970s. Perfectly tacky and filled with nostalgia. Would you take a bath in a heart-shaped tub today? These newlyweds are enjoying some special time in a hotel called Poconos Palace in 1971.

David Bowie helped break gender boundaries and make it more socially acceptable for men to wear makeup and extravagant outfits. Along with being a music icon, he was clearly a fashion icon – I mean, look at that flaming crotch!

Diana Ross was everything back in the day, and seeing her in a monochromatic purple Bob Mackie dress is almost more than we can handle. Combined with an elegant purple fur and turban wrap, this ’75 moment might just be the chicest thing out of the 1970s.

To be Cher in the 70s — only this LGBTQ icon could get away with walking down the streets of Beverly Hills in a skintight leotard, fishnet tights and a cowboy hat. She was definitely the party queen of the era, and we can’t imagine the shenanigans she got into.

This is certainly a very different Venice Beach than we know today. Although you can find the new era of skater girls there, nothing quite compared to this 1979 group of OG rollerskating girls with their iconic leg warmers and short shorts.

Incredible 1970s moments weren’t just in America – it was also a time when Swedish EuroPop was taking over and ABBA icon Agnetha Fältskog was getting famous. Hen it comes to this pink jumpsuit with a heart-shaped cutout, people either love it or hate it. Personally, we love it!

There’s no denying that Goldie Hawn was the darling girl next door of the 1970s, and her hairstyles were always on point, whatever decade she was in. This time, she’s rocking a perfectly styled shag cut with that signature smile.

Fleetwood Mac was the soundtrack of the 1970s for many people, and Stevie Nick’s free, genuine nature helped draw people to her. And that flawless voice, of course. Somehow she could always pull off the oddest looks, like this gown, knee-high boot and top hat combination.

Angelica Huston is still a staple of Hollywood today, and that’s due to her stellar acting skills and magnetic presence. No wonder Jack Nicholson fell madly in love with her! With this high bun and majestic metal artwork over her collarbones, she simply commands attention.

Before CGI, there was Jaws. One of the first movies to implement effects like this, here are some behind-the-scenes shots from the making of the flick. For the tech they had back then, the shark is pretty realistic, don’t you think?

Freddy Mercury had the voice of an angel, and his eyeliner skills weren’t bad either. Here’s the famous band in 1974 dressed in an all-white ensemble. From the image, you might not have guessed that these guys were superstars. Also, those haircuts are a dead giveaway of the era.

If there’s a 1970s dedication account out there, it’s only natural that we post more than one Cher image. Here, she’s showing off her abs in a sparkly burnt orange suit and a barely-there bedazzled bandeau bra.
