We often think that actors portraying our favorite characters on screen are just as lovely as the parts they play. A few charming interviews and you’re all over them. But remember, they’re actors, pretending to be someone else is what they get paid for. You might find it surprising but quite a few actors you thought were sweethearts are actually pretty mean people in real life.
1. Jared Padalecki
If you watched Gilmore Girls and thought Dean was a sweetheart, I’m sorry. Rewatch it now as an adult and you’ll see that he was a bad boyfriend and a bad person. Turns out Jared Padalecki isn’t that great either. He used social media to complain about waiters in a restaurant and posted a photo of them. It’s like rule one human decency, Jared – don’t be mean to waiters.
2. Alec Baldwin
You know him from 30 Rock where he plays a very rude but somehow likeable character. However, in real life, Alec is quite a mean person. A couple of years ago a voicemail he left for his daughter leaked and well, this is what he said: “You are a rude, thoughtless little pig. You don’t have the brains or decency as a human being. I don’t give a damn that you’re 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you’re a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a** who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I’m concerned.”
3. William Shatner
There are lots of stories about William Shatner out there, but his co-stars always say he has a bad attitude. He even got nicknamed Captain Jerk by people he worked with on Star Trek. They all say he was very difficult to deal with and even after Leonard Nimoy died he refused to attend his funeral.
4. Charlie Sheen
He played an irresponsible but lovable character on Two and A Half Men, but we all know by now that he’s a liability. He was rude to everyone on the show, that’s why he was replaced with Ashton Kutcher, and after that, we all know the scandal about him assaulting his wife and later on trashing rooms in hotels.
5. Penn Badgley
You
know him from Gossip Girl, but did you know that even though this is
the show that catapulted him to stardom he still dissed it?
Apparently, he spoke badly about the show and criticized the writers
on many occasions. Who does that to a show that jump-started your
career?
6. Bradley Cooper
Bradley is adored by many women but turns out he’s not that great as a person. He’s earned a bit of a reputation for dating his co-stars and then dumping them as soon as the project is over or when the spotlight goes away. And he’s not above cheating on them either. Shady move, Bradley, so not cool.
7. Robert Knepper
Remember Blaine’s father from iZombie? Yeah, that guy was mean on the show but turns out he’s quite evil in real life too. He was accused of harassment by quite a few women in the industry after the #metoo movement started and he still denies all of it. Why would the women lie about that, Robert?
8. K.J. Apa
K.J.Apa played Archie on the show Riverdale and it’s his first big role but looks like fame has gone to his head. Or maybe he just lacks common sense, it’s hard to tell. Basically, he’s quite rude and uses his social media for evil. He likes fat-shaming comments on Instagram and is often sexist and rude on Snapchat. Remember kids, just cause the messages on Snapchat disappear, doesn’t mean you can be rude.
