Kris Humphries is one of those names you’ve heard many times in different contexts, but you just can’t pinpoint where exactly. That is, of course, until you hear someone say, “Oh, the NBA star who married Kim Kardashian?” Yes, that Kris Humphries. Aside from that notorious achievement, what has he been up to after divorcing Kim K? Short answer – he’s been playing ball for the Celtics and Hawks up until 2019 before fully retiring. But what’s next for him?
Kris’s new love
After being around such a huge star like Kim Kardashian, Humphries did his best to keep his personal life private. There were some details and photos over the years about the girls he was dating, but the ex-NBA star is pretty good at keeping them under wraps. After the divorce, Kris was seen with Fatmire Sinanaj, then a fashion model, Natalie Pack, and more recently, in 2021, he dated Neyleen Ashley, a fairly well-known influencer. It’s possible they’re still dating, but officially, Kris appears to be single.
Big house for a big boy
Everyone knows that professional NBA players make a small fortune every season, and Humphries was doing pretty well for 13 years, so he’s loaded. And what do all rich people have in common? Luxurious mansions in Beverly Hills. In 2015, Kris bought a 3,340-square-foot villa with three bedrooms for $6.2 million, but he only lived there for two years before flipping it to Jason Oppenheim for $8.2 million. A year later, in 2018, our big boy dished out $7.5 million for a new house.
Finally retired
It’s hard to believe Kris’s basketball career started in 2004 when he got drafted by the Utah Jazz. After a couple of years, the future star athlete would go on to many other teams, including the Raptors, Celtics, Wizards, and Net, before finally landing a spot on the roster of the Atlanta Hawks and retiring in 2019. Not that many NBA players can proudly say they lasted 13 whole years in the biz. Basketball was the only reason that kept Kris going all those years.
Living with Kim Kardashian wasn’t all that
Kris and Kim met in late 2010 thanks to their mutual friend Jordan Farmar. Their relationship progressed quickly, maybe even too quickly, as they got engaged in May 2011 and tied the knot on August 20 in Montecito, California. Just 72 days after their expensive wedding, Kim K filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Such a short-lived relationship, combined with the extravagant wedding and media attention, led to widespread speculation that it’s all just been smoke and mirrors from the start. Recently, Kris has commented on the nature of his and Kim’s little adventure in the past and said that their love was 100% real.
Kris Humphries – the future fast-food mogul
After hanging up his jersey, Kris ventured into the fast-food business by co-founding a restaurant chain called “Crisp & Green.” It’s not your traditional burgers and fries restaurant but rather a fast-casual eatery that focuses on providing healthy and customizable food options, including salads, grain bowls, and smoothies. But that’s not all. Humphries is also the owner of a few Five Guys and Dave’s Hot Chicken spots.
Downtime with furry friends
In his free time, Kris loved to hang out with his furry pals, but in December 2020, the sad news about his dog Brody broke him. In 2021, Kris’s other long-time pet, Gizmo, also passed away. On that day, his Instagram followers were heartbroken after reading Humphries’s post: “RIP to the legend Gizmo. 16 plus years of being there for me and loving me. Don’t pick on Brody in doggy heaven.” But every end is a new beginning, and so last May, Kris posted a lovely photo of his two new puppers – Ricardo and Rocky.
