The time of jingling bells is almost upon us, and that means it’s Christmas movies time! But don’t worry, you won’t find any Home-Alone’s or It’s-a-Wonderful-Life’s on this list. Here are 8 most underrated Christmas movies everyone should watch.

1. Gremlins
Without a doubt, Gremlins is one of the best horror comedies ever, and it’s also set during X-mas. Don’t feed Gizmo after midnight, and don’t get him wet. How hard can that be? But no, of course everything went wrong, and the gremlins multiplied like crazy, terrorizing a small town of Whateverville. That holds exceptionally well as a holiday satire. It’s a must see for the Christmas season and here you’ll find some of the funniest visual gags in the history of cinema, as well as a nice Christmas message, of course.

2. Elf
Easily one of the funniest Will Farrell roles out there. Elf is sort of a kids movie, but adult love discovering the nuances. If you haven’t seen it yet, let’s just say you’ll never look at Elves the same way ever again.

3. Bad Santa
Sure, it’s not filled with caroling and holy spirit, but Bad Santa tells its story from a unique perspective, keeping the viewer guessing, while laughing all throughout the movie. I mean, you gotta hear all those insanely inappropriate jokes!

4. Jingle All The Way
Arnold Schwarzenegger is desperate to become a better father to his 10-year-old son. And apparently there’s only one way to do it – get his boy an action figure of his son’s favorite superhero! Cue in shenanigans and lots of laughs.

5. Just Friends
The main hero had a crush on this one girl, who rejected him for being fat, so in the end he became a slimmer, more handsome version of Ryan Reynolds and he met her again years later. You can figure out the rest yourself. Don’t miss your chance to see Deadpool wearing a fat suit!

6. Trading Places
What would happen if a rich and poor guys suddenly traded places with each other? Even though it’s an oldie, the thought-provoking commentary still holds up, as well as the funny parts.

7. Christmas With The Kranks
If anyone out there can save Christmas it’s Tim Allen. One holiday season the Cranks decide not to celebrate X-Mas, and use the saved money on a family cruise. But their neighbors have a few issues with their decision.

8. The Grinch
One of the best castings ever – Jim Carrey as the Grinch is just what I imagined when reading the original Dr. Seuss’s book. He’s the one who stole Christmas, after all! Oh and the rhyming never gets old.
