6 Unforgettable Shows From The 90s That Need To Make A Comeback

Ah, here’s that fresh breeze from the Great Nostalgia ocean. You may not remember the 90s but the 90s sure do remember you. Almost every reboot or remake from the past 10-15 years was built on the bones of a 90s’ IP, especially all those Disney live-action movies. Even though those reboots were not the worst, it’s still sad that the big studios don’t want to take the risk and invest in something brand new. But, since we’re talking about reboots, how about cult stuff like Buffy or Seinfeld, that people will definitely love?

Here are 6 unforgettable shows from the 90s that need to make a comeback!

1. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)

What would you do if you found out one day that you’re destined to slay vampires, demons, and other unholy creatures? That and the funny social situations, masterfully crafted by Joss Whedon, were the meat of the show. It ran for 6 seasons, but there’s room for 10 more!

2. Seinfeld (1989-1998)

What’s the deal with redefining the sitcom genre, huh? That’s what Jerry Seinfeld would say, for sure. Why was it so good? Because it was a show about nothing and everything at the same time. This formula can work again today. And if you get the original cast to make a few cameos, it’s gonna be selling like hotcakes!

3. Xena: Warrior Princess (1995-2001)

This amazingly charismatic and badass female warrior would do just peachy in today’s sociopolitical scene. She’d be quite literally fighting for equality. Sure, it wouldn’t be the same Xena as portrayed by Lucy Lawless, but it might just work. There has to be a way to revive the Warrior Princess!

4. Animaniacs (1993-1998)

They’re wacky and unapologetically honest. They taught us about the countries, the US states, and how tiny we are in the universe. Kids today could learn a few things from these characters.

5. Gargoyles (1994-1997)

“Gargoyles” was probably the best-animated show of the 90s or at least one of the best. And it was made by Disney of all companies. It was dark, had outstanding animation, and a very compelling plot. Why it only ran for 3 seasons is still a mystery. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a live-action treatment for them too.

6. Friends (1994-2004)

Of course, everyone wants the big Friends reunion but what about a reboot? I have no idea how that would work in 2019, but people wish to relive those pure emotions of joy, happiness, and sometimes even the sad moments. Just a bunch of good friends hanging around. What could be better?
