Top 7 Best Superhero Games

You don’t have to look far these days to find a pack of crime-fighting superheroes out to make the world a safer, but also more explosion-filled place. The Avengers have become Hollywood’s biggest darlings, and the Marvel party isn’t ending for the foreseeable future. Superhero toys are moving millions of dollars a year. Even the comics themselves, which were ailing in the early 2000s, are on the upswing. And yet in video games, the one medium where you can actually be Captain America or Superman, it seems like there’s a dearth of good superhero titles.

That’s an injustice we can’t let stand. For those in desperate need of a superhero video game fix, we’ve gathered the best of the best here. Their mission: to make sure you have a super good time. Whether magic powers, technical gizmos, or just flat-out smashing things is your jam, the gang’s all here. Time to get to work.

Marvel Heroes 2015

Yes it’s an MMO, yes, it looks like a Diablo clone with superheroes, and yes the moderators don’t always think clearly when it comes to issuing permabans, but you will thoroughly enjoy this game if you’re into Marvel stuff. The hero roster is huge and it’s only getting bigger every month, the game is absolutely free to play and the community is super-friendly. Every hero has a class of his/her own, so there are no warriors, assassins and mages, but you can spec out your hero to fit at least some of those roles. It’s fun, go play it!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

The X-Men Legends and Ultimate Alliance games were the shiz back in early 2000’s. While in many ways MUA2 was the same as its predecessor, the new changes and adjustments made it the pinnacle of the franchise. The roster in MUA 2 is huge as well, featuring heroes from all over the Marvel Universe. Of course, just like any other game, it has its flaws, but if you’re looking for a dungeon crawler, where you can smack Magneto in the kisser – this is your game.

The Wonderful 101

Platinum Games is one of the best game devs out there. They always deliver amazing action-packed games like Bayonetta or Transformers Devastation, proving just how skilled Platinum is at creating eye-catching aesthetics and bad-ass characters. Wonderful 101 is all that and more. Unique gameplay, stunning visuals and don’t even get me started on that cheesy, but still kinda funny dialogue! Here you’ll control a team of Wonderful Ones, 101 of them actually, as they battle against a devastating intergalactic evil, trying to take over the world. You know, the usual.
The Wonderful 101 has so many cool gameplay features, I’d recommend you to play it yourself, or at least watch ScribeD’s play-through, if you don’t have a Wii U.

Deadpool

Deadpool: The Game… What else can I add? Or rather what else is there to add? It’s the Merc with the mouth, and it’s just as crazy and hilarious as Deadpool comics. Sometimes even more! This action-packed game will slay you with its out-of-the-box humor, as well as fart and dick jokes, constantly breaking the 4th wall. A big plus is a scene where you can b#tch-slap unconscious Wolverine as long as you want to, and who wouldn’t want to do that?

Saints Row 4

In Saints Row 4 humans have been endowed with incredible powers like supersonic speed, shooting energy beams from their palms, and whatever power you can think of – it’s probably in the game. Save the Earth from spooky evil, wearing tights and matching outfits. You could be faster than a speeding train, or more powerful than a meteor, or both! That alone makes the game worth your time, turning the casual traversal into a high-speed experience.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

Question: what would happen if you pit the greatest heroes and villains of the DC Universe in a fantastic, interdimensional Mortal Kombat-like battle royale? Incredible, unadulterated insanity that is Injustice: Gods Among Us. The story, the visuals and the never-ending brutal action – all wrapped up in a neat little package. This is one of the most faithful, hard-hitting fighting games a DC fan could hope to play.

Batman: Arkham Knight

If we forget for a second about that unholy PC port, and talk about the console version of Arkham Knight, you’ll see that it’s one of the best superhero games ever created. No other game will let you walk and fight crime in Batman’s boots (well, apart from other Batman games, of course),
This time the Dark Knight has an updated arsenal of non-lethal weapons and gadgets, the Batmobile can be used at any moment, making it more fun to traverse Gotham and fight those goddamn tanks. Best part of the game, apart from kicking multiple villain butts, is gliding through the dark city sky on Batman’s glorious cape. 10/10 would buy a “Batman Gliding Simulator 2016”.
