Over 25 years ago, humanity was graced with Steven Spielberg’s most magnificent movie baby – Jurassic Park. The theaters were stuffed with people, kids started to be scared of dinosaurs, and Ross from Friends finally felt cool for once. It was one of the most adrenaline-filled adventure movies of the decade. After the massive success of the first movie, the franchise started growing. Ass you probably already know, there are five movies in total, and as far as we know, there will be more.
So, going back to the original Jurassic Park, do you remember who was in it? Well, it’s time to refresh your memory and find out where those stars are today!
1. Ariana Richards – Alex Murphy
Ariana Richards was only 13 years old when she played the role of Lex. Now she is 40! She an impressionist painter and even still appears in films from time to time.
2. Joseph Mazzello – Tim Murphy
9-year-old Joseph Mazzello played Tim Murphy in the 1993 film. Since then, he has starred in movies like “Simon Birch,” “Social Network,” “G.I. Joe 2”, and more.
3. Laura Dern – Dr. Suttler
Laura Dern played Dr. Ellie Suttler back when she was 26 years old. In 1999, she appeared in “October Sky” with Jake Gyllenhaal, and “I Am Sam” with Sean Penn. Since then, she’s managed to win two Golden Globes and get an Oscar nomination for a supporting role in “Wild.”
4. Sam Neill – Alan Grant
New Zealander Sam Neill played Dr. Alan Grant at the age of 45. He then appeared in a plethora of titles, including “Bicentennial Man,” “Wimbledon,” and the hit TV series “The Tudors.”
5. Samuel L. Jackson – Ray Arnold
Sam Jackson was 45 when he played engineer Ray Arnold. A year later, Jackson was cast in Pulp Fiction, which turned everything around for his career. Over the years, he managed to become a part of two most popular franchises – Star Wars and Avengers; he got an Oscar nomination and four Golden Globes, and simply became one of the most prolific African-American actors in Hollywood.
6. B.D. Wong – Henry Wu
32-year-old B.D. Wong played a geneticist Henry Wu in Jurassic Park. Soon after that, he got a job in the TV series “American Girl” and starred in “Seven Years in Tibet,” “Salton Sea,” and “Bird Box.” He is the only one of the original cast to return to Isla Nublar in Jurassic World.
7. Wayne Knight – Dennis
Remember the nerdy system administrator Dennis? Before getting acid sprayed by a lizard, he was best known for his iconic role as Newman – Jerry Seinfeld’s neighbor. Today he’s working on “12 Mighty Orphans” and “The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee.”
8. Jeff Goldblum – Dr. Ian Malcolm
The unorthodox Dr. Malcolm was played by 40-year-old Jeff Goldblum. But it wasn’t the end of him! He then appeared in “Independence Day,” so, uh, life found a way, I suppose. His most recent work includes “Jurassic World 2”, “Thor Ragnarok,” and the upcoming “Jurassic World 3”, where he will reprise his role of Dr. Ian Malcolm… again.
