Celebrities get married all the time. I guess it’s pretty normal, since rich and famous people tend to hang around rich and famous people. I’ve never had one ring me up to go out, anyway. Maybe I should work on that.
We no longer think it’s odd when celebrities marry, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have some seriously horrific celebrity marriages. In fact, we’ve had quite a few in the past. As soon as the people involved got divorced (we also no longer consider this to be ghastly), we collectively decided to forget about that entire wedding. Until today.
Just to prove that once you marry someone, you marry them forever, I will remind you people of some curious celebrity weddings that actually happened. I have no idea why or how, but they did.
Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thornton
They lasted for three years, which is quite something in celebrity world. Brangelina lasted longer, though.
Aaliyah & R. Kelly
This 90-day marriage had red flags all over it from the beginning. Let’s just cut to the chase: Aaliyah was 15 at the time. Yeah.
Kid Rock & Pamela Anderson
Talk about two people that probably weren’t sober for an entire day through their three month wedding.
Marilyn Manson & Dita Von Teese
They were quite accurately called „Beauty and the Beast“. Their marriage lasted for about a year.
Lisa Marie Presley & Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage was married to Elvis’ daughter for a whopping three months. Lisa Marie married Michael Jackson as well, so I’m not sure she’d classify as having good taste in men.
Katy Perry & Russel Brand
Another „Beauty and the Beast“ marriage, this one lasted for 14 months. Since their divorce, they’ve apparently not had contact with each other.
Drew Barrymore & Tom Green
This one only lasted five months and was always pretty eerie.
Julia Roberts & Lyle Lovett
The last „Beauty and the Beast“ entry. Marriages don’t tend to last longer than 21 months if you don’t spend a consecutive week together.
Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman
Carmen Electra married the most mentally disturbed NBA player for a whole nine days. After this marriage, Dennis Rodman announced he was bisexual and was going to marry himself. Well, not right after. It had nothing to do with Carmen, I’m sure.
Britney Spears & Jason Allen Alexander
This lasted for a whopping 55 hours. That’s not even three days. That’s literally going straight from wedding to wedding party to hangover recovery to annulment.
