You may be thinking that COVID-19 quarantine is almost over, but trust us, we’re going to have at least another month of this cocooning. And while you could go on Lynda, Udemy, or many other useful sites with online courses, you’re probably going to play some video games and order pizza. Or maybe you’re one of those people who’ve never gamed before, in which case welcome to the world of tomorrow!
Here are ten games you should definitely try out while you’re stuck at home!
1. The Witcher 3
Get the GOTY edition for cheap and have yourself over 60 hours of epic monster-hunting adventures, seducing women, and playing political chess with the barons and kings.
2. Rocksmith 2014 Remastered
(requires an electric or bass guitar and a cable)
A lot of us always wanted to pick up an electric guitar and just jam a few songs. Well, there are many ways to learn how to play, but none of them are as fun as Rocksmith. And with the library of hundreds of songs, you can find something for everyone.
3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Smash the buttons until your opponents are defeated. It’s not that hard, but unless you want marital problems, don’t play it with your spouse.
4. Zelda: Breath of the Wild
This was the game that helped sell Nintendo Switch consoles when they first came out. And it’s still selling like hot cupcakes. The open-world and insane adventures of Link will keep you busy for about 80 to 100 hours.
5. Fortnite
You can hate it all you want. I hate it too, but it is objectively super fun to play! It’s the community that sucks, don’t blame the game. The king of the Battle Royale genre is still breathing!
6. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
This is the most fun and, at the same time, rage-inducing Mario Kart game out there. But hey, you can play it for a while before moving to something more substantial.
7. Spider-Man (PS4)
The only game I’ve ever completed. Reaching Platinum in Spider-Man is not that hard if you know what you’re doing. The plot is excellent, web-zipping through Manhattan feels fantastic, and before you know it, you will be longing for more.
8. Animal Crossing New Horizons
Everyone’s playing ACNH. It’s cute, cuddly, makes an amazing creative outlet for any artist, and is overall a solid chill game. I know that description would never sell it, so go check out what people have been doing in their games so far.
9. God of War
It’s God of War. What else is there to say? Kratos has a kid now, and they’re trying to get to Yotunheim. The hordes of dark elves, wild beasts, and undead warriors are there to stop them. So there are only two things they can do — rip and tear until it’s done!
10. Doom Eternal
Speaking of Doom references, we have the new Doom Eternal! New adventures, gruesome new demons, same old Doomguy. It’s the most fun you’ll have this year! (but only if you like first-person shooter games)
BONUS!
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
By the time this article hits the internet, you’ll probably be playing it. But just in case you forgot, FF7R is out on April 10, and you must not miss it!
