The hit series “Friends,” released in 1994, became a launchpad for many big and small actors, providing them with prestigious awards, worldwide fame, and exciting career possibilities. But this one girl got most of the attention – we’re talking, of course, about Jennifer Aniston.
She quickly became a fan favorite and managed to snag the most handsome Hollywood star of the 90’s – Brad Pitt. Even though this part of her can’t be called a big success, because of the complicated finale, Jennifer has been doing amazingly well since then, and today we’ll take a look at some of her most memorable post-Friends roles.
1. Along Came Polly (2004)
This is one of those early 2000’s feel-good comedies that you know will make you all gushy on the inside. It’s about an ordinary office clerk, whose wife has been cheating on him during the honeymoon! But it’s all good, an old friend, the eccentric Polly, has set out to comfort him and stir things up a little.
2. The Break-Up (2006)
Falling out of love is hard, even when you’re Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. On-screen, they played a couple, who’s rapidly losing their feelings, because of the pressure and silly misunderstandings. We should note that everything happened the other way around in her actual life. Going through a difficult recovery period after breaking up with Pitt, the actress found solace in the arms of Vaugn, but it wasn’t for long.
3. Marley & Me (2008)
Here’s another noteworthy comedy starring Jennifer. Not only did the fans like it, but even the critics were also more supportive than usual. Aniston and Owen Wilson had splendid chemistry together, and the cute dog definitely made the movie better.
4. The Bounty Hunter (2010)
This is probably her worst movie, but that’s what makes it memorable. An ex-cop, and now a bounty hunter, who searches for fugitive criminals, is tasked with finding a hot journalist Nicole. With a funny twist of fate it turns out that Nicole is Milo’s ex-wife and shenanigans ensue! The Bounty Hunter was nominated for the 2011 Golden Raspberry Awards in four categories: Worst Film, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst On-Screen Couple. Yikes.
5. Horrible Bosses (2011)
It is impossible not to mention this hilarious comedy. In horrible Bosses, Jenn and her famous colleagues, are playing the bosses who can bring even the most patient subordinates to the edge. Thanks to all the positive reviews, it even got a sequel in 2014, which was a lot less relatable.
6. Wanderlust (2012)
A year later, another ironic film was released on the big screens. But, actually, the movie itself is not the main reason why it’s so memorable. In Wanderlust, Jennifer Aniston met her great new love – Justin Theroux. The couple spent seven long years together, after which they divorced. Today, as far as we know, Jennifer is single again, unless it’s all kept in a big secret.
7. Dumplin’ (2018)
In recent years, Jen has delighted the fans with a few more projects, one of which was the Dumplin’. It’s focusing on the topic of body positivity among the teenage audience. They play around with the usual plot threads but give them a good fresh twist. Aniston plays a former beauty queen, who does not want to let go of her past, and she portrays her quite brilliantly!
