Glow-in-the-dark doughnuts, or just “Glonuts”, are the new food craze straight from Australia. This is one of those definitely unnecessary, but cool-looking food innovations. I mean, has anyone ever said “it’s too dark to eat a doughnut”? You just shove them in your pie hole and pray you won’t get any crumbs on your bed.
But, regardless of whether or not we needed the Glonuts, we still have them. “Black Star Pastry” has created these fun little snacks relatively recently, but they’ve been slowly taking over the Instagram and Facebook ever since! So far I’ve only seen glowing reviews and no hate whatsoever! Are these Glonuts really that good?
They sure look delicious, and I could certainly eat about a dozen of them. Oh, and, if you think the glazing looks like the radioactive Ooze that gave ordinary turtles their ninja powers, A) you’re not alone, but also, B) it’s just some vitamin B, which is often used to create glow-in-the-dark food. I wonder what else you can cook with this stuff.
Chirstopher Thé, the idea man, said, “We would never create anything that was unnatural, even if it was a great idea. BlackStar is all about great techniques and real cooking, we never add dyes or additives to any of our products.” So, yeah, it’s all natural, and ready to be digested in your tummy. What are you waiting for, then? Go on, and hop on the next flight to Australia!
