7 Actresses That Brought Disney Princesses To Life

Disney has been recently remaking most of their classic movies as live-action remakes. On the one hand, this has to do with intellectual property rights which would be up for grabs if they don’t make these movies within a certain amount of time, but on the other hand, it’s also because as Mr. Dylan said “the times they are a-changin’” and the world of cinema has fully embraced live-action, CGI filled movies.

With the abundance of new Disney movies released in recent years, let’s take a look at some of the actresses that made the iconic Disney princesses come to life.

Lily James

Lily James had the honor to play the role of Cinderella in one of the first live-action remakes we saw from Disney. The actress’s charming demeanor perfectly matched the character of Cinderella. The role was initially offered to Emma Watson, but she preferred playing Belle instead.

Elle Fanning

While Maleficent wasn’t exactly a movie where the princess took center stage, Elle Fanning had no problems playing princess Aurora next to Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent. Many other actresses would probably not have done so well!

Liu Yifei

While Mulan isn’t the most typical princess, Liu Yifei does a great job as the character. The actress does nearly all the stunt work in the movie herself, which adds a lot to the realism of the movie. If you’re going to play a warrior princess, you might as well become one, right?

Anna Kendrick

Into The Woods was the movie where Anna Kendrick took it upon herself to play the role of Cinderella. Anna is no stranger to musicals, so she had a very little issue in making this character come to life on the silver screen.

Emma Watson

In the Beauty and the Beast remake, Emma Watson took on the role of Belle. She delivered one of the best Disney princess performances ever and reminded us all that true beauty is on the inside. Which is probably easy to think if you look like Emma Watson.

Naomi Scott

One of the more recent Disney remakes, Aladdin, saw Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. While this movie wasn’t exactly the best work Disney has done, Naomi Scott’s performance won’t be the cause of the somewhat mediocre reviews.

Kristen Stewart

No, Snow White and the Huntsman wasn’t a good movie. Not by a long shot. But Kristen Stewart did give it her all to create a more ready-for-combat version of Snow White. We can’t really blame the actors for a badly written movie, so we’re sure there was nothing more Kristen could have done to make her character exceptional.
