Models have been around for a while, but it feels like the term supermodel really became a thing in the 90s. It was just an incredible time to be a model. It feels like we’ve seen more supermodels in the 90s than at any other time. But you know that horrible saying that a supermodel’s career ends at 30? Well, let’s see if that’s true for 90s supermodels. Let’s take a look at what they look like now and what they are up to.
1. Naomi Campbell
Naomi was definitely one of the biggest stars in modelling in the 90s. But you’ve got to remember that her career wasn’t easy, she definitely didn’t take it for granted, she often faced a lot of unwelcome criticism and oftentimes being the only black model on a catwalk couldn’t have been easy. But here she is in 2020, still looking great, a successful model, actress, businesswoman, icon and yup, Yves Saint Laurent was lucky to have her walk the catwalk at the 2020 spring fashion show.
2. Claudia Schiffer
Claudia Schiffer was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world in the 90s and still is. She achieved enormous popularity as a model and then her fame only doubled when she got engaged to David Copperfield. What is she up to now? Well, she’s an actress, fashion designer, executive producer, and a mom to 3 children. And yup, she still looks absolutely stunning.
3. Christy Turlington
Christy was one of the ‘holy trinity’ of models back in the day. These days this gorgeous woman is in her 50s and still looking hotter than you. She’s also now a filmmaker, she campaigns for women’s rights a lot and she even started a charity that focuses on making pregnancies and childbirth as safe as possible for everyone.
4. Cindy Crawford
Cindy Crawford was such a huge deal in the 90s. She had such a distinctive look and that beauty mark literally made people want to draw one on their face just to look like her. We’re also proud to report that in 2020 Cindy is still a massive icon of style and culture, as well as a practising model and actress and she looks phenomenal. Plus, not she has a daughter that is a spitting image of her that’s also going into modelling, so we’ve got awesome things to look forward to.
5. Tyra Banks
As big as Tyra Banks was in the 90s, she’s possibly even a bigger deal now. She’s had such a prolific career and she’s still a big part of pop-culture to this day. That woman is just born to be seen and heard. She has such a big personality we can never get enough of her. She literally created America’s Next Top Model, can you believe that? It’s all thanks to her. Smizing – the act of smiling with your eyes, yup, it was Tyra who coined that phrase too. Tyra is just such a gem, we’re honestly privileged to have her.
6. Kate Moss
Kate Moss was incredibly famous but also incredibly scrutinized during the height of her career in the 90s. It was a different time, models partied like crazy and heroin chic was the look then. These days Kate looks way more grounded, she’s also a fashion designer now, and she’s no longer a size zero, yet she looks even more stunning than she did in the 90s. How is that even possible? Many have actually noted that Kate Moss looks way hotter in her 40s than she did in her 20s. Well, this English lady is clearly doing something right.
