As Disney has gotten its hands on 20th Century Fox we’re up for a series of new, possibly exciting, reboots. Harbouring numerous classic franchises under its wing, Disney has finally turned its gaze to the one we all feel most passionate about – Home Alone. Yep, we’re up for a reboot that will come to Disney’s new streaming service and, frankly speaking, everyone is in a bit of a shock. The best reaction to the news, though, was posted by none other than Macaulay Culkin himself, who played Kevin McAllister. He came up with his very own version of what modern Home Alone should look like and, honestly, it’s the best thing in the world.

Macaulay Culkin, 38 years of age, cracked up the Internet (starting with Twitter) by posting a hilarious photo of himself sitting amidst food leftovers with a laptop in his lap. He’s rocking a white headband and an open midriff, something most of us can do only when home alone (pun intended).

He then followed up with a tweet urging Disney to call him. He probably has a whole script laid out already!

The reaction to the news itself and to Culkin’s post was huge. Some people started making memes at the speed of light, while others felt Disney was about to mess up their favourite classic.

But most people agree on one thing – they would give this reboot a try if Macualay Culkin was in it. This may be the only way for Disney to redeem itself! Otherwise the reboot will flop long before it comes to the screens.

Who needs a reboot of the all-time-favourite movie, anyway? Only a company who wants to ride the wave of the movie’s previous success, that’s who. At least, that’s what most of Home Alone’s fans think is happening.

All of the movie’s sequels are proof enough that you shouldn’t mess with the classic. Why not take a bad movie and make it good with a cool reboot? Now that would create an uproar of applause.

Rest of the fans are light-heartedly mocking the whole concept of the movie that worked great in the 90s’, but is absolutely not possible in the modern day when everyone is connected with the Internet, messenger apps, and social media.
