Let’s be honest: the economy is horrible right now. Finding a job is slowly but surely becoming the hardest thing people have to do before their 30th birthday. Well, that and paying taxes for the first time. That pain never goes away.
To help you get a job slightly faster, here’s some skills you might want to invest in, in the upcoming year of our Lord 2018.
Facebook Advertising
Since the population most vulnerable to advertising – the younglings Anakin didn’t kill – spend most of their free time on Facebook, being able to make people buy stuff on Facebook is a very sought-after skill on the job market these days. Because why make a separate marketing platform if the best platform is already out there for you to use and abuse?
Google Analytics
Is there anything more attractive than a guy that can measure advertising return on investment? What? There is? Well, shucks.
Drone Videography
Remember how drones are awesome? Learn to fly one properly so you can get paid to essentially play with an RC toy. That’s every kid’s dream. Every kid ever.
Data Communications Analytics
Yup, it’s analyzing data. Loads and loads of data. Data communications analytics is very popular in the marketing world because it allows companies to make their marketing campaigns better. Because no one likes wasting money, not even people that actually have money. You should probably just add that to your skills section on your resume. “Doesn’t waste money”. Do it.
Excel Expertise
We can all make a basic Excel spreadsheet. I’m talking real expertise here. I’m talking pivot tables inside of pivot tables that make pivot tables themselves. And group that data. Group all that data up real nice. And then turn it into a pivot table. Seriously, CEO’s love pivot tables. It’s like a drug to them.
Fitness Skill
Okay, it’s hard for me to consider “fitness” a skill, I’m more inclined to consider it something that you just do. You either do fitness or you do not. There is no try. That’s what Yoda meant and you know it. Anyway, people seem to be obsessed with their physique in our current day and age, so being able to help people look skinny (and getting paid for it) might not be such a bad thing.
Web Development
Yes, people still make websites. And yes, people get paid to do that. Paid good money, actually.
iOS App Development
I mean, there’s not one but TWO new iPhones coming out. You know you want a slice of that money-making pie.
Video Game Design
I could never do this because I don’t mix business and pleasure, but it’s a lucrative industry if you hit the big time. Top end video game developers get paid insane wages.
