At this point, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so vast that everyone can easily find something to like (or hate) about it. Fans obsess about the heroes, villains, Easter eggs, and how connected that world feels, but most of all, we love replaying their favorite scenes over and over again.
Here are the top 8 MCU scenes fans love rewatching!
1. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” (2018)
I know what you’re thinking, “Into the Spider-Verse is not an MCU film, and it’s an animated cartoon!” First of all, through god and multiverse theory, everything can be MCU, and secondly, have you seen that wicked leap of faith Miles made? It’s pure art! The scene marked a badass and very emotional debut of the new webhead.
2. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (2014)
Not all fan-favorite scenes are massive in scale. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we see the best close-quarters fights in cinema history. Of course, it’s the famous “elevator fight” where Cap dispatches a whole squad of Hydra agents. It is truly a mesmerizing sequence!
3. “Captain America: Civil War” (2016)
Nothing beats a good old-fashioned team-o-team brawl. In Civil War, the heroes are divided over a looming political threat, which leads to team “Cap” and team “Iron Man” duke it out in an airport. Aside from many memorable 1v1 showdowns, we get to see Spider-Man for the very first time in the MCU. Man, what an entrance!
4. “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)
In a mega-crossover film like Infinity War, it’s easy to find at least a dozen scenes that you will meticulously rewatch and over-analyze, but none hit as hard as the Snap. Just when Thor’s new toy slashes Thanos’s shoulder, and the viewers think it’s over, the movie pulls that comfy rug right from under our feet. “You should have aimed for the head,” says the Mad Titan as he snaps his Infinity Gauntlet-clad fingers. And just like that, our favorite heroes start to turn to dust. It’s gut-wrenching, but we can’t look away.
5. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015)
You can say anything about Age of Ultron, but it is hugely underrated. It sets up so many threads in the MCU that you just can’t help but get excited about the future movies. One such thread we see in the afterparty scene, where the Avengers are chilling around the table, and Barton mocks Thor and tries to pick up Mjolnir. Didn’t even budge. Then Stark and War Machine come in with their power armors, but even that has zero effect. Banner made an effort, but apparently, he wasn’t “worthy” either. When it’s Cap’s turn, however, the hammer does move, making the god of thunder visibly concerned. Quite the foreshadowing!
6. “Thor: Ragnarok” (2017)
One of the most memorable movies in the MCU is definitely Thor: Ragnarok. In it, Odinson meets his sister Hela, who crushes Mjolnir with her bare hand and sens him on a journey to Sakkar. Whatever, it’s all good, but the juiciest part is the moment Thor realizes he had the lightning power all along. He zaps the goddess of the dead along with her army of undead Asgardians set to Led Zeppelin’s The Immigrant Song. God-like!
7. “Doctor Strange” (2016)
Doctor Stephen Strange ignores common sense and answers a text while driving his Lambo (it could have been a Buick, I don’t know cars). Crash, broken fingers, despair, mysterious sanctuary, magic stone, yadda-yadda-yadda. In the end, we have our hero going against an omnipotent entity from the Dark Dimension — Dormammu. There’s no way to defeat this villain, and Strange knows that. The only chance to save the world is to strike a bargain. Yes, Strange had to die an unknown number of times, and it’s a real pleasure to watch him suffer, mwahaha!
8. “Avengers: Endgame” (2019)
The absolute top-tier fan-favorite scene in the MCU has to be the grand finale of Avengers: Endgame. The final battle of all of the heroes vs. Thanos and his hench-aliens is stuffed with crazy bits and references that not every viewer will notice on their first run. But of all the scenes, one still stands out: Thor’s hammer flies past its owner and lands straight in Captain America’s hand. And then the iconic phrase “Avengers, assemble!” Tell me this doesn’t give you the chills.
