7 Most Anticipated Horror Movies of 2019

We’ve had some amazing horror movies in the past couple of years, and it seems like 2019 will top them all. For a fairly obvious reason the horror genre is far less popular than comic book movies, but at least scary movies are doing better than comedies. If you’re a fan of blood, gore, and spine-chilling sensations, this list is perfect for you!

Here are the 7 most anticipated horror flicks of this year!

1. Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
What if all those spooky stories you’ve heard in your childhood were true? Directed by the legendary GDT (Guilermo del Toro), this movie will be taking place in a small town, where all of a sudden your worst nightmares are becoming real and a group of kids have to confront their darkest fears. Thinks IT or Goonies. Sounds like a great premise, plus, it’s GDT, so you know it’s going to be amazing.

2. The New Mutants
What does a super hero movie do on a list like this? Well, FOX loved to tarnish the X-Men franchise, and abused those characters year after year. They’ve been working on the New Mutants movie for like 3-4 years now, with multiple release date changes and reshoots. Finally, we’re getting that Marvel “horror” movie, and it’s probably gonna be a huge flop, but I’m willing to give it a chance.

3. Child’s Play
This summer, the classic horror fans will get a bloody fine treat – a modern remake of the 1988 “Child’s Play”. Just like in the old-school version, the Chucky doll is possessed by a serial killer and the fun times begin!

4. Crawl
And again, this same summer, we’re gonna experience what it’s like to be stuck in a flooded basement with a bunch of hungry-hungry alligators…

5. Doctor Sleep
Who ordered another one of Stephen King’s adaptations? This one’s rather interesting. Remember the iconic Shining? Well, Doctor Sleep the sequel to that story, and revolves around adult Danny Torrance and the mysterious cult kidnapping children with the gift of “shining”. It’s gonna get crazy!

6. Brightburn
Imagine the classic Superman’s origin story, but with a tiny twist – young Clark Kent uses his super powers to kill people. Thanks to James Gunn we’ll see that exact version on the big screen very soon and I could not be more excited.

7. IT: Chapter Two
And finally there’s IT: Chapter Two – probably, the most anticipated horror movie of 2019. We’ll finally witness the total demise of Pennywise the Dancing Clown from the hands of the Loosers Club. It’s been 27 years since the last time this demon showed its face, and this time it will be its last!
