As you probably know, the knight is a title that originated in Medieval Europe. Only real warriors with great courage and a sense of honor were good enough to achieve this valorous title. Of course, there are hundreds of stories and legends about the chivalrous knights and their ironclad escapades. Some of those adventures ended up as movie scripts and, oh boy, are they good!

Here are 7 of the best knight movies of all-time!

1. Kingdom of Heaven (2004)

A XII century blacksmith named Balian is going through a difficult period in his life: his son was killed, and his wife, unable to face the tragedy, committed suicide. One day, Baron Gottfried, Balian’s father, invites him to have fun at the Crusade. Without thinking twice, Balian agrees, which understandably changes his life to the core. Halfway through their journey, his father is seriously wounded, and Balian ends up in Jerusalem, eventually becoming a farmer. But the Crusade came knocking again, so a knight’s gotta do what a knight’s gotta do!

2. King Arthur (2005)

King Arthur and his Knights have been serving the Pope for years but secretly dream of returning to their wives and children. Their time was almost up when Rome presented them with a new task: the knights must deliver the Pope’s disciple to the capital. Of course, this is not a cakewalk, with the merciless Saxons waiting for them around every corner. This will be their last task, regardless of whether they survived or not. And that makes for a great movie!

3. Braveheart (1995)

William Wallace was left without parents at an early age. Throughout his adult life, he was raised by his uncle, gave him a solid education. As a grown man, Wallace decides to return to his homeland to find a wife and live a normal life. But where’s the fun in that? His plans change drastically when Wallace’s bride dies at the hands of the Brits, and he starts his personal vendetta, which in turn grows into an all-out war against the oppressors. “They may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom!”
